시설청소년의 자립 준비도에 영향을 미치는 변인
The Variables Influencing on the Preparation for Self-Support of fostering facilities teenagers

    The purpose of this study is to suggest improvements by analyzing the factors affecting the independence of teenagers raised in fostering facilities. Therefore, this paper will help provide information contributing to the promotion of a self-support program. The subjects of the study were 128 high school students inhabiting 18 fostering facilities in Daegu. The research tools were the measurements of social support, problem-solving skills, right awarenessand preparation for self-support and the period of collecting data was from March 7th to April 19th, 2008. The t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, tracking analysis and Scheffe test were done by the SPSS WIN 14.0 Program, which analyzed the materials. The summarized results are as follows. First, it turned out that the group aware of their occupational goals (M=2.96) received more support, had a higher level of right awareness and morepreparation than the group that was not . Second, the better one had developed their occupational goals, the more social support they received, the higher problem-solving skills and greater level of right awareness they possessed, and the higher level of preparation for self-support they had. The preparation was indirectly affected by the awareness of one's occupational goal and directly by establishing job goals, social support, problem-solving skills and right awareness. According to the results of this study, establishing an occupational vision is important for young students in fostering facilities. This indicates that the collaboration between fostering facilities and local resources with speciality is essential. Counseling and mentoring programs are needed for preparing young students to get a sense of their desired careers before leaving foster facilities. Training facility workers to provide emotional support would build a constant support network and caring system for young students.
