This paper aims to introduce Hongseong dialect(洪城方言) data collected by professor Sungnyong Lee(李崇寧) in 1950. This data amounts to 39pages of note- book(roughly estimated 1,500 words). The data is transcribed in Hangeul, but sometimes in phonetic symbols when it is impossible to transcribe in Hangeul. The selected items for investgation and the classification of the items look like to follow Simpei Ogura(小倉進平 1944), but there are some differences between those of Ogura and those of Lee. Lee collected part names or hyponyms of some items. So Lee's dialect data contains many Hongseong dialect words which are not found in Ogura(1944). Ogura(1944) contains only the dialect forms for each item.Lee occasionally presented declensional forms when it is necessary to expose stem final consonant. e.g. pat(field), pasi(pas +-isubject case marker), pas?l (pas +-?lobject case maker), offered collocation which is closely related to some items, mentioned the differences between generations or between social groups, and explained the meaning of the special dialect words which are unknown to standard Korean, and so on.Viewed in those points mentioned above, this Hongseong dialect data is excelent one for that day and age in Korea.
