  • 초록

With increasing collection of wooden documents, which have been found recently in Korea, this essay make an attempt to investigate comparatively written culture between Korea and Japan in ancient times. Because it seems to me that the two countries had traced into the parallel development of writing cultures. Above all, the essay take into consideration about written cultures of immigrant group presumed to be Korean, who brought the technic of informational conveyance, for instance, wooden documents into Japan. For the royal forces as well as the local powerful families, skilled immigrants whose literary art in Japan(倭) were powerful instruments and means for rule in the ancient Japanese period, They had played a role of drawing up diplomatic documents, or introduced the administration of documents as a control measure into Japan, and developed the literary arts and writing cultures for the politic and economic growth of the ruling class in those days. As these activities of immigrant were impossible without historical experience derived from the ancient Korea, it seems to me that through writing civilization that these immigrant had embodied in, we could look into such written situation as a method, a style, form or purpose, and so on about all the writing in ancient Korean period. The culture of wooden documents for these group of immigrants had made up provided with both the comparison and the review in various spectrums, including the writing form and contents in wooden documents. First of all, the writing culture made by the group of Korean immigrants who had emigrated into Japan give us the fact that they not only utilized to the Chinese orthography but also developed its written system, so as to have a strong influence on the ancient Japanese orthography. Furthermore multilateral wooded documents might probably applied to the early Japanese discoveries like wooden documents. Also, through wooden documents' original intention to control people and evaluate material, we pointed out that wooden documents excavated from the ancient Japan had many things in common with wooden documents dug out at the ancient Korea, in light of both operating system. Accordingly, we can undoubtedly understand that the ancient Japanese written technologies were mainly carried out by immigrant from Korea Peninsula, as compared with the two country's wooden documents.
