영화 <청춘쌍곡선>(1957)과 '부산'이라는 공간의 만남
The encounter between (1957) and the space of 'Busan'

    Busan is a very important city in the history of Korean films. Because of its proximity to Japan, it was a place where modern culture was quickly adopted. The meaning of Busan in each era has also changed. For example, In the mid-1950s, the space of 'Busan' in Korean films was reproduced as an uncultivated space, a pure space, a place to protect against communism, and a space expressing the scars and sorrows of war. In other words, we can see the city of Busan through the films. This is why we should pay attention to (1957). In the , there are two major aspects depending on the times of the 1950s. First, it offers spectacular attractions such as Songdo Beach and Yeongdo Bridge. Second, by showing the appearance of shantytown, it shows poor housing conditions and tough life in Busan after the Korean War. Especially with regard to the latter, it makes the most of its comedy film-specific genre devices and creates a 'cheerfulness.' That is because the society at the time demanded 'cheerfulness.' Meanwhile, casts popular comic actors and famous musicians of the time as its main characters. They attract the public by singing in films as if performing on stage. The title and lyrics of their song are related to 'Busan.' This works in harmony with the film footage of Busan, which attracts audiences.
