    This study was conducted to develop the Internet nutritional education program to help children promote the healthy food habit, and to evaluate educational effect of developed program. The results of surveys on nutritional problem and nutritional education status for children are used to develop Internet program. The nutritional problems of children caused mainly by 4 factors that they had lack of knowledge about body image, desire for weight control, an unbalanced diet(especially on vegetable) and the problems of snack and nutrients intake. These are also closely related to the family factors like meal environments, the employment state, and the educational level of parents. We tried out 7 week nutritional education program focusing on food tower, Even if the trial was proceeded shortly, the educated children showed an improvement on nutritional knowledge and dietary variety. These results are very suggestive of children's education on nutrition. To investigate into consciousness of school dietitians and teachers on nutritional education were conducted two surveys. The school dietitians tried the nutritional education put in practice, but the methods were passive like "home correspondence". Although school deititians and teachers had a great interest in necessity of nutritional education, they had difficulty to become effective because of "heavy work load". For their desire in nutritional education were required the inductive materials. An example, we can think an Internet-network which could furnish useful cooperative information on inductive materials for dietitians and teachers. Also that parents, especially the mothers are the central operating body to buld up dietary habits of children at home. Therefore, if the informative contents for the parents were offered in the Internet-network, the educational effectiveness showed be increased. Internet was use very highly by children, teacher, dietitians and parents, but dietary information was used rarely except dietitians. It menas that educational methods and contents are very important to access the Internet information willingly. With this concept, a Internet assisted nutritional program was developed for children, teachers, dietitians and parents. The characteristics of developed Internet nutritional education program(www.food79.net) are the customized program based on the level of learning ability by grade, an employment the various education method such as game, cooking practice, and quiz, animation, and self-check system on dietary life. The contents of this site are constructed not only for children but also for parents, the teachers and the school dietitians to increase educational effect. The children's part consists of food tower, nutrition kingdom, assessment of obesity index, food information, nutrient exploration, cooking world, and evaluation of food life. The part for school dietitians and teachers covers the contents of the basic physical exercise, nutrition counseling methods, the nutritional teaching plans, and the information interchange corner. The third part for parents contains the nutrition evaluation, food 114, correction methods of dietary habits, and free discussion. The educational effect of this program was evaluated by comparing method with Internet-learning group and book-learning group. For effect-evaluation from before and after education was employed the degree of nutrition knowledge and diversity of dietary intake. As the result, the Internet-learning group improved significantly higher in knowledge and diversity of dietary intake than book-learning one. It suggests that educational program by Internet could be more effective to call interest and concentration. In conclusion, the nutritional education by the Internet indicates the possibility as an effective and alternative education method.
