취업모의 자녀양육태도와 아동의 학업성취도와의 관계

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between working mother's attitudes in child rearing and academic achievement of child. And the working mother's degree of job satisfaction and educationl course were regarded as low elements that are influential in the working mother's attitudes in child rearing. The subjects were 217 third grade elementary school children and their working mother. Instrument mearsuring mother's rearing attitude was the Korean version of Schaefer's(1959) Maternal Behavior Research Instrument(MBRI), which had been used in Lee Won-young's study(1983) and Lee Kyung-rae(1997) on the relationship among mother's view point of child education, rearing attitude and child development. Data were analysed with t-test and variate analysis by SAS program. Result of this study were as follows: First, there was significant difference in academic achievement of child according to mother's rearing attitude. Namely, working mother's acceptible-autonomous rearing attitude conducted the highest academic achievement of child and followed acceptible-controlling and autonomous-rejective attitude. Working mother's rejective-controlling attitude conducted the lowest academic achievement. Second, there was not directly relationship between working mother's degree of job satisfaction and educational course.
