    This thesis attempts to investigate the general recognition of social reputation which the teachers in elementary schools seem to have. To achieve this aim more effectively, the following sub-questions were asked and inquired. (1) What is the general recognition level of social reputation which the teachers in elementary schools show? (2) What are the differences in the social reputation recognition of elementary schoolteachers according to the demographical variables such as gender, age, career etc.? One research instrument was constructed in this thesis by the help of some professionals. This instrument, that is, one questionnaire consists of two parts: extroversive and introversive social reputation behaviors. Each part has such the same three elements as character, ability, and authority. The number of total items is 42, each part 21, each element of each part 7. The final subjects were 268 elementary schoolteachers. Numbers, Mean, Standard Deviation were calculated and t and F test was applied to the statistical analyses. The findings of this thesis may be summarized as follows: (1) The general level of social reputation recognition which the elementary schoolteachers show is a little lower than the average. But the authority element of the extroversive part and the ability element of the introversive part are about to the average. (2) Generally speaking, the female teachers of elementary schools are more oriented towards the social reputation than the males. Especially this tendency is more distinguished in the total introversive part and the ability element of both part. (3) Generally speaking, the younger teachers of elementary schools are more oriented towards the social reputation than the older. Especially this tendency is more distinguished in the total introversive part and the character element of the extroversive part. (4) Generally speaking, the lower career teachers of elementary schools are more oriented towards the social reputation than the higher. This tendency is more distinguished in the total extroversive part and esp. the character element of the extroversive part.
