The stereotyped behavior is one of the characteristics to diagnose the children with autistic disorders. They attempt to fall into self-stimulus through stereotyped behaviors while stopping any other ones as possible as. In this case, the problem is that they become unconcerned or insensible about the surrounding circumstances, and this causes the obstacle to study or social coordination. I studied the effect of fundamental movements education programs, which make the essential concept of body language acquired, on stereotyped behaviors of children with autistic disorders. The study has progressed as 40 sessions, 3 times a week and allocated 20 minutes for every time, for 3 children with autistic disorders. The research was based on multi baseline design. As I adopted the multi baseline design, 3 children have compared directly so that I could confirm if the intervention of this program was effective for them. The results of this study are as follows. First, as the result of analyzing the general change of stereotyped behaviors among those children, the average frequency of whole stereotyped behaviors shown by 3 children indicated the highest value, respectively, during basic line setting period, and dropped rapidly during management period but increased a little during maintenance period, and/or the effect of management has continued till maintenance period. Therefore, it means that the general intervenient effect of fundamental movements education program was comparably settled. Second, as the result of analyzing the individual sub behaviors of stereotyped ones, intervention has an effect on simper and body vibration for children 1; staring into space and hand vibration for children 2; and simper and leg vibration. Every behavior showed the highest frequency in basic line setting period but dropped rapidly during management period, and the decreased behaviors have continued till maintenance period. This result shows that the management has effect on stereotyped behaviors by use of body especially. Therefore, the fundamental movements education programs have effect on improving the stereotyped behaviors of children with autistic disorders. It means that the activities using motion and movement are obviously effective to decrease the stereotyped behaviors of children with autistic disorders.
