  • 초록

Debussy is one of great French composers in the history of music in the early part of the 20th century. He played a key role to bridge romanticism and modern music of the 20th century and became a leader of impressionism who opened the path for modern music of the 20th century. The musical technique of impressionism includes a new and wide variety of musical techniques for composition such as whole-note scale, 5-sound scale, and church modes. Debussy showed those kinds of specific features through his works. He introduced those poems written by C. Baudelaire, S. Mallarme, P.Verlaine and A. Rimbaud who were symbolist into his works which had a close relationship between the texts and the tunes with suggestive and vague modes, which represents the artistic environment of those days. This study shows Dubussy's musical features which will help people to understand his works and the results of analysis of the song as follows; First, poem and music were harmoniously combined, and by using directions the performance method of the words and phrases of poem are elaborately described, which requires the performer to have a fine musical attention. Second, the falsetto parts and accompaniment parts are continually linked together and this contributes to pursuing ambiguity of style. The formation gets to be vague by using whole-note scale, 5-sound scale, church modes and chromatic scale. Third, by using 7, 9, 11 degree chords, increase and decrease chords in vocal area, the tinge of impressionism is expressed in strong. Fourth, based on the mode of text, down-line tune, recitative tune and staccato are used. p dynamic marks are used much more than f. Fifth, by using syncopation rhythm and hemiola rhythm, the musical dynamics is changed and the musical time patterns are destroyed. Sixth, the accompaniment consists of pedal point, octave parallel progression, arpeggio, trill and progression of chromatic scale. This contributes to leading the poetic atmosphere with change of vocal music and vocal part together in accordance with the change of nature. I hope that this study will be of some help to those who study or perform .
