Ojeonghee's novels showed us a person who was isolated from oneself and the world in the darkness of the world. When discriminating qualities among O's novels which dealt with the pressures on each of individuals, one must keep in mind the characters in the novel as well as author's attitude toward the reality. Living in reality means be seen that a self maintains relations with the world. At this time, the world is a darkness itself but one can provide consolations through the darkness to accept it by criticizing the dominant rules in the society and changing and standing against it. In spite of the reject against life in O's noels, it must be noted that her attitude against life is the product which is resulted from creative criticism critical of leading the reality to more improved one and resulted from author's awareness which is intended to maintain tension between current reality and improved one. One of the important aspects in O's novels are the framework between time and places, and literary style. In order to understand character's positions, this study grouped O's time and places aspects into four categories: dual layers of fantasy and unconsciousness, space lost and isolated, spaces of despair and suppression, and archetypical space. First, the dual layers of fantasy and unconsciousness seem to be used as a shelter which is resulted from narrator's languor and the isolation from his/her family. It means the world's darkness derived from the individual's isolation in an industrialized society, thus it can be considered as self-satisfying structure on which narrator rely in searching for comforts in his/her memories depending on him/her in fantasy. And space of home is reviewed as a negative space where there are isolations, abortions, and sterilities, that is, lost and isolated spaces, as well as there are languor and depression characterized by a motif of children's dead. Such negative spacial perceptions attempt to searching for true values as an ontological search when the space of home lost its function as a home, but this attempts fail as well. This indicates the decomposition of family system in our society due to unrejectable ontological darkness in our life. Aesthetic of O's novels can also be found in style. O's literary style in her novels can characterized by the omission of descriptive suffix and quotation mark, and repeated uses of pauses and hyphens and it is difficult for readers to understand easily the meanings because sentences are complicated and long. Such a style as monologue is used in expressing narrator's unstable and understandable awareness. In particular, of her novels the novels concerning inner world which reflects narrator's uncertain awareness have a number of symbolic meanings and it is difficult to understand the wholes from parts, and it indicates that such works focus on the unification of effects rather than the unification of works. Her style also realizes the darkness of the world using several colorful words such as red, white, blue, and yellow. The aesthetical essence of O's novels is to express ontological perceptions about violence and dead to reflect the truth of life by overturning the world's darkness without being overturned by daily life.
