Modes in art of any period of times can never be induced to only one, every mode is changed by historical trends, and aesthetic senses thus can be altered as time goes by. Therefore contemporary paintings are newly expressed with modern sensibility out of ideological painting modes in the past. Nature around the everyday life and the psychological state of people are interpreted into contemporary painting in Chinese painting with eyes of artists in simple and refined graphic formation, fresh treatment of blank spaces, supernatural formation, and intuitive and frank expression of art. Since Korean culture is based on naturalism, the development of actual landscape painting is inevitable. However landscape painting should not remained as a simple traditional painting mode, but should be changed into sympathetic one. It means this does not represent ideological utopia, but expresses familiar nature with human beings. In this context, the researcher intends to reinterpret landscape through modern sensibility as well as traditional expressional media. Based on traditional use and techniques of Chinese ink, the researcher emphasizes naturalness on drawing paper, changes and speed of lines, and liveliness with coloration. On the other hand, there are still some limitations, such as lack of balanced and detailed graphical expression, immature in expression with lines and colors, failure of daring space division and formation, and so on. The researcher aims at establishing a new direction of Korean painting for pursuing natural changes driven from internality, and especially- tries to express vitality with lines through interpretation of natural truth into spirit. In addition, interpreting oriental thoughts of painting in a new way can be a kind of creation.
