The purpose of this study was to discuss the relationship of manners to personality among elementary schoolers. A survey was conducted on students in their six year of elementary school to find out their values and perception of etiquette and their actual manners in a bid to make etiquette education more successful in elementary school. The findings of this study were as below: First, it's important for parents to have a talk with their children everyday to have a better understanding of them and teach them to be courteous. Second, the children who were more educated about etiquette had better manners, and this fact indicated that it's needed to prepare some programs to assist them to build a good sense of etiquette and be well-mannered. Third, children in their first year of elementary school should start to receive systematic etiquette education about diverse fields to have good personality. There are some suggestions in conjunction with the findings of this study: First, as etiquette education about greetings has a lot of influence on children's personality, appropriate programs should be developed to provide better character education. Second, students should learn to be polite at home above all, since home is the basic unit of society. Third, the importance of character education should be more publicized throughout the nation, and it's needed to create the conditions for more successful character education.
