(A) study on seif-identity according to the dance majors

The purpose of this study was to investigate the self-identity according to the major treed of dance. More specifically, this study investigated the Dance of Majors on characteristics(grade, begin of dance) of each individual on self-identity. The subjects were 500 college students in Seoul.Kyunggi area:400 dance major and 100 general major. Data were colleged by questionnaire carefully designed for testing the self-identity according to dance major. In order to analyze the collected data, this study used Factor analysis, Crosstabs for x², T-TEST and One-Way ANOVA by SPSS. The findings of the study can be summarized as the followings: 1. The comparision of dance major student with general major student, dance major showed more positive characteristics in the areas of stability, self-existence, self-complacency, self-insistence, personal relations role awareness, denial awareness, kind of friend than general major. 2. The self-identiy of on individual characteristic according to dance major were more positive among the first grade self-elevation and among the second grade the goal of orientation, personal relations, pesonality, role awareness, denial awareness, kind of friend and the stability, indipendent, self-confidence accommodation of sex, self-complacency, but the forth grade were positive self-insistence. 3. The self-identity according to individual charictreristic were positive personality, self-independent, question of consciousness accommodation of sex for begin of dance. 4. The self-identity of ballet major were more positive than korean dance major and modern dance major.
