The Farm music is a folk art, which is deeply rooted in life of our ancestors and handed down from ancient times. Besides, based on a long history and tradition, the farm music not only has a high system as a public entertainment also has a peculiar characteristic. So the farm music shines brightly as a folk art. Especially, Honam farm music plays a leading part of national farm music. We designated it by putting the farm music of Cholanambuk-do, Chungchong-do and the part of Kyongsang-do together. In terms of geographical features, the farm music of mountainous areas (Kunsan, Changsu, Chonju, Chinan, Namwon, Imsil, Sunchang, Koksong, Kurye, Hwasun) is called Chwa-do. And the farm music of plain areas (Iksan, Okgu, Kimje, Puan, Chongup, Kochang, Yonggwang, Changsong, Hampyong, Naju, Kwanju, Changhung, Kangjin, yongam and Muan) is called U-do. In this Study, the process of Pangud and Ginpuli(file-untying) is compared\ centering around Imsil and Pilbong farm music of Chwa-do and Iri farm music of U-do. ① To see kinds of pilbong farm music, Madang-palbi, Maegud, Dangsanje. Kolgung-gud, Ture-gud and Chalbab-goji are handed down. Also, there is the Pan-gud performing when exorcised on a large scale such as Madang-palbi or Dansanje. Dagsan-gud, Tong-gud, Mungud, Chibsin-palgi, Kolip-gud and Pan-gud is handed down in Iri farm music. Compared with pilbong. Iri farm music is somewhat difterent in its contents and forms but the same in its meanings. ② The pan-gud process of Pilbong farm music consists of follows : Typing melody --> Chaegud (Ilchae, Ichae, Samchae, Sachae, Ochae, Yukchae, Chilchae) --> Hoho-gud (Chindaduraegi, Hohogud, Hohogudwodurumi, Chajinhohogud) --> Pungnu-gud (Slow-pungnu, Panpungnu) --> Mijigiyongsan --> Norae-0gud --> Tol-gud --> Kajinyongsan, Individual play) --> Todukchaebi-gud --> Talmori-gud. The pan-gud process of Iri farm music consists of follows ; Naedrim-gud --> Ujil-gud --> Chwajil-gud --> Pungnu-gud --> Yangsando --> Anbatang (Pongori-samchae) --> Sambangjin-gud --> Panguljin-gud --> Hohogud --> Talachigi --> Mijigi-gud --> Pumasi-gud --> Ilgwangnoli-gud --> Kujongnoli ③ All of the form of file-formation are based on a circle and especially, many of them turn to the opposite direction of a clock. Beginning and ending in a circle is common to them. In pilbong, motley crews always dance and make merry in a circle of hotwonjin (only one circle). Iri is famous for Soljango Dance. Pilbong is particular in Taegukjin and Saekkipulgi0jin (unfastening ropes). Iri is particular in sambangjin. There are two file-formation in the farm music. The one is a form of group danse to cause unities and participant-matives, which make sure of cooperative spirit. The other is a strife performance meaning discord for the purpose of sharpening consicusness. ④ The musical systems of the farm music contain repetitions of typing, cheering and untying. These processes of Small Sinmyong are called "Hangori". The farm music which consists of many kinds of "gori" has beginning and ending forms " Han pan", the process of harge Sinmyong. This "Han pan" is much expressed in Pan-gud. Compared with other arts forms, Honam farm music is enjoyed and studied by few people. Especially, it is little enjoyed by teens. But those who want to creat a popular and natiorl art renew the farm music. I want to be an aid to it.
