WTO has been organized and Korea has been a member of OECD. As a result since July in 1997 our agriculture and farming village has been confronted by the sudden environment changes; all crops except beef and rice have been opened. Agriculture is a life industry, a base of national culture, and a home of national survival. And thus it is necessary to establish close methods to protect and develop our agriculture. This research understands what the needs for farming are and diagnoses how much the Agriculture Cooperative is satisfying this needs, and then presents the direction of the farmer-centered, efficient extension services. This research studies the farming extension services about productive activites, marketing and sales activities, which are directly connected with income rise of the farmer because extension services which the Agricultural Cooperative is performing are various. The change and the process of farming extension services, the present condition, and etc are researched by document studies, and the needs for farming and the safisfaction are researched by empirical study, the object of which is 500 members of the Agricultural Cooperative of 25 the Agricultural Cooperative in Kyonggi Province. Also the result of questionnaire researches on 380 farmers are analyzed with SAS statistics. As the result of the analysis, the importance of extension services on productive activities is high in all 12 items, and the degree of satisfaction is low. 3 items(the accurate delivery of farming information; the development·distribution·introduction of a new farming technique; the extension services on productive activities) show a large gap between importance and satisfaction, and therefore it indicate that the needs of the farmers are not satisfied. The importance of extension services on marketing and sales activities is high in all 14 items, and the degree of satisfaction is low. 11 items(price guarantee, offering information on marketing; expansion of marketing facilities, processing facilities, and refrigeration facilities; support for high quality of product) show a large gap between importance and satisfaction, and thus the needs of the farmers are not satisfied. In general, because 26 items which the Agricultural Cooperative is enforcing are what farmers emphasize, the Agricultrual Cooperative must enforce these continually, and 14 items which show a large gap between importance and satisfaction must be supported importantly. Especially, the research of importance and satisfaction of farming extension services for farmer is made first in Kyonggi Province, so this research is considered important. As the result of research, the direction for farming extension services of the Agricultural Cooperative include; 1. enforcing the famer-contered extension services through understanding the farmers' needs. 2. enforcing extension services agencies which will develop, distribute, introduce the new farming techniques and enforcing the division of role. 3. enlarging and enforcing Maschinen-Ring porject. 4. consistent guidance by farming extension services agents and strengthening field activities. 5. strengthening the guidance and support for guarantee of profitable price. 6. strengthening the contact and cooperation with agencies which is related to farming extension services. This research has the following limitations. 1. The difficulty to apply the result to the whole farmers, because this research is made only about the members of the Agricultral Cooperatives in Kyonggi Porvince. 2. Because the questionnaires are distributed through farming extension service agents, it maybe effect the degree of satisfaction on the Agricultural Cooperative.
