In this study, a series of tests were conducted by transverse arc-welded joint with fatigue growth life. Application of the relationship da/dN=C(△K)^m is effective in the analysis of fatigue crack growth life. The values of materical constant C and m have great influenceson the predicted fatigue live and the relationship between fatigue crack growth rate (da/dN) and stress intensity factor range (△K) is effective in fatigue crack growth behavior. In this paper, fatigue crack growthbehavior of the welded joints in steel structure SWS490 steel have been studied. To evaluate the fatigue crack growth rates of SWS490 steel, fatigue test was performed by base metal(BM), heat affected zone(HAZ) and weld metal(WM) in SWS490 steel at room temperature. We determinated the relationship of da/aN-△K by correlation between C and m obtained from the Paris-Erdogan power law data suplied SWS490 steel. The obtained results from this study indicate that fatigue crack growth rate of SWS490 steel is not influenced by softening effect which occurs in the HAZ when high heat weld is carried out. Softening effects, which affect fatigue properties, are shown that it is not affected to the fatigue growth test significantly. And as a result of fatigue tests, using the FEM and experimentalresults for varioLls welded joing models, a unified S-N curveindependent of structural stress concentration factor was proposed.
