    The 21st century is expected to be an ever-changing millenium in all aspects Today, we try to foresee our society in the 21st century mainly in educational and non-educational aspects. Firstly, we sure of drastic changes in non-educational fields e.g politics, economics, cultures and scientific technologies, and also we sure that our society is going forwards the advanced technologies, information-based, internationalized diversified alld pluralized society. And the educational fields seem to be totally renovated. For supporting these renovation, so-called Educational Renovation Advisory is suggesting "the 10 articles about educational renovation": ① reorganization of schooling system ② changing entrance exam for schools ③ modernization of school facilities ④ reservoir of intelligent faculty ⑤ renovation of education content and methods ⑥ development of scientific brain ⑦ pursuing easiness of college education ⑧ establishment of life-long educational system ⑨ educational administration's autonomy ⑩ aggresslve investment into Education The educational chance would be vary and equalilzed in the 21st century, and we can expect the democratized, autonomized, individualized, diversified and opened education as well. Principals' responsibility and role are much more important under this circumstances, and the principals are required to carry out various roles; they are administrative, class introductor, conduct manager, human relationship helper & evaluator, and conflict reconciler. When the autonomy of local education put down roots, the principal's roles will be much more emphasized than now. Their responsibilities are largely divided into several parts; responsibilities for organization and administration, communications, managements, personnel management, order for conduct supervising to students, lecture operation, service, maintenance of facilities, financing, professional capacity, and improvement. There will be a lot of requirements and conflicts over faculty, student, parents, and principal. Therefore, principals should be qualified with the following leadershipin order to cope with the ever-changing circumstances in the 21st century and to nurture autonomlc, freative and ethical people who is desirable in the future society. First, a principal should be a human educator, so she/he could buildthe vocation of principal's value and authority by resplfct and trust of faculty and students, and could manage school in more effective ways. Second, a principal should not stop self-developing with a solid educational value, so she/he should flexibly cope with terrifying changes and requirements. A principal should keep self-developing also for specializing education. Third, a principal should have resonable and flexible ideas. The school management of today does not seem to exist, so flexible leadership is required in abruptly changing situation. Forth, a principal should care of human harmony. While the 21st century approaches, the world has been experienced in skyrockrting physical developments, and shrinking humanism will worry us. Dehumanization can cause conflicts among individuals itnd nations, and educational leaders should handle new changes and discords using reconciliatory leadership. Fifth, a principal should be democratic. Creating an agreement through various communications might be a beautiful power to solve the new problems in this extremely characterized socilety. So, in order to operate school effectively and achieve designed aims, a principal needs to collect many ideas from all educational subjects as much as she/he can Sixth, a principal should be a qualified instructor of class and conducts. Not as a bureaucratic administrator who seriously cares of authority and position, but as a class and conduct instructor who supervise the core of professors' study in the future. Seventh, a principal should show creative leadership. The world is changing so quickly that the very present information become old ruins immediately. Therefore, a principal should foresee the step forward, and with that basement she/he make best use of reasonable criticism on the reality and creative leadership with frontier spirits on our future. We have observed the desirable leadership in the 21st century that required from a principal considering changes in all aspects. A definition of desirable leaders might be vary depending on historical circumstances, but their philosophy and ideologies are influential factors to the development of organizations, Many educational problems that we are facing are system-related, but also these problems are causedby less-qualified educational administrators who are lack of philosophy. Therefore a principal should take not only the role of educational administrator who communicates with faculty, students, and other educational subjects in local society, but also the role of qualified and sincere educator. And then, the educational essence should be retrieved, and our nation and society will be developed in ideal direction.
