The research of the acknowledgement and the situation about dance sports for adolescents leasure education

    In terms of the process of physical development there are some features on the phase of adolescence. Adolescence is the phase of building up their personalities and physical development. This phase shows a lot of physical activities like an outdoor activity compared with other phases of physical developments, this menas that physical activities are centered rather than emotional ones. One may think dancing such as 'dance sports' cound be a good physical acivity for adolescents' leasure and the reason is as follows. Dance sports is getting popular for people in all countries. Also, due to the physical, emotional and social effects people could have a creative life in our society with gaining good behavior, co-operation and responsibility through dance sports. Therefore, this research could utilize the trend in dancing among adolescences as a more effective and educational activity for their leasure. The objective of this research is to find out how adolescents think about dance sports in order to put dance sports in their school curriculums. We utilized a questionnaires were distributed to the middle and high school students who were the residents in Dae-jeon province. We got the results through the Kai square analysis as follows. The degree of acknowledgements on dance sports was low, but the favors were quiet high. Also, the people agreed with putting dance sports in a regular school curriculum. Dance sports turned out to be a suitable activity for adolescents leasure. Therefore, we should put dance sports, which is regarded as liberal arts in universities and middle and high schools as well. There are some dance sports classes once a week and physical education classes twice a week for female students in some middle and high schools. This dance sports lesson has to be put in a regular curriculum for male students and to be practice-centered. The lesson has to be varied in terms of the degree of a difficulty and we should have many teachers, who are well-trained in that area, in order to specialize the degree of the lesson. In addition, I hope the practical study in adolescents leasure could be continued by other researchers based on this research. Also, I hope dance sports will be utilized as a new adolescents leasure, and acknowledged as an educational and a creative sport for adolescents without any biased thought through a school curriculum.
