The purpose of this study is to how master teacher is participating in executing the school administration and to grow the development way for the efficient job performance of master teacher by examining relationship between the role performance and the job satisfaction. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to 293 teachers who are working in the elementary school at Kyounggi-do. The used questionnaire is divided into two parts that measure the role performance and the job satisfaction of master teacher in the school administration. The part that measure the role performance is subdivided into 16 questions which related to curriculum of education, personnel management, equipment administration, financial management, local community, general affairs and so on. The part that measure the job satisfaction is subdivided into 18 questions which related to human relations, role activity, manned system, and so on. The validity of this was verified by expert in ed cational administration field, and the reliability was obtained from Chronbach's alpha test(.9206, .8856). The statistical techniques for the analysis of data such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation concerned with the general characteristics, the role performance degree and the job satisfaction degree, were used. T-test and variate analysis were adapted in order to analyze the difference between the role performance degree and the job satisfaction degree of master teachers according to the general characteristic of them and correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used in order to examine the relationship between the role performance degree and the job satisfaction degree of master teacher. The respondents consisted of 214 male teachers and 79 female teachers and as their age distribution, 79 teachers below 30 years old(23.5%), 140 teachers in 40's(47.8%) and 84 teachers over 50 years old(27.8%) were responded. Teaching profession career of master teacher had the distribution that teachers below 10 years career were 30(10.2%), teachers who have 11-20 years career were 81(27.6%), teachers who have 21-30 years career werw 152(51.9%) and teachers over 30 years teaching career werw 30(10.2%). In general, teaching profession career of master teacher was long. The profession career as a master teacher had the distribution that for career less 5 years - 145 teachers(49.5%), for 6-10 years career - 126 teachers(43.0%) and for career over 11 years - 22 teachers(7.5%). As a working region, teachers who are working in the city were 184(62.8%) and teachers who are working in the country were 109(37.2%). The distribution of score related to the role performance and the job satisfaction of master teacher in the elementary school is as follows: for the role performance, it showed up that the mean in actual state(52.8%) is higher than theoretical expected value(32.0%), for the jon satisfaction, it showed up that the mean(62.9%) is higher than the theoretical mean value(36.0%). The role performance score significantly differed depending on the distinct of sex, teaching career, career as a master teacher and age, however, statistically did not depending on the area where they are working in. The job satisfaction degree showed the significant difference depending on the distinct of teaching career, age, but did not the difference depending on the distinct of sex, career as a master teacher, the working area. As a result of the gradual regression analysis for the relationship between the role performance and the job satisfaction, variables such as general affairs, financial management, affair management and local community out of low-ranking variables related to the role performance explained that the job satisfaction of master teachers in the elementary school was 42.7%. For human relations variable out of low-ranking variables related to the job satisfaction, general affairs, financial management and curriculum of education dominated the ratio of 34.9%. For low-ranking variables related to the role performance, local community and financial management dominated the ratio of 23.7%. In addition to, it appeared that, as a result of bidirectional verification of significant level of 0.1, the role performance have about 0.667 correlation with the job satisfaction. Based on this statistical study, we can say that the job satisfaction degree of master teachers who have the high role performance is high.
