    The plastic deformation of asphalt concrete occurs by many reasons. In this study, the plastic deformation of asphalt concrete pavement was measured in a test site to find the effect of the aggregate size and the quality of asphalt. Two different aggregate mixing design was applied for base course and surface course at different sectors in the site. The first was the conventional mixing design prescribed by the construction code of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation(MOCT). The second is using coarser aggregate and asphalt with lower standard penetration degree. The result clearly showed that the plastic deformation was much samller when the maximum size of the coarse aggregate was bigger and the portion of the coarse grain was bigger. Also, the use of asphalt with lower standard penetration degree considerably decrease the plastic deformation of the asphalt concrete.
