A study on the behavior of steel bridge with prestress

Recently, there are going on studying about composite structure used complex material in bridge design. In Steel-bridge, old bridge have applied external prestressing system but, steel-bridge haven't utilized complex structure used high-strength tendon. So, if steel-bridge applied prestressing process is manufactured in factory, which have reduction of construction term, accuracy of prestressing force, a way out of local buckling. This paper is verified the effect of complex structure and prestressed plate used high-strength tendon For the purpose in this paper, to investigate the behavior of steel-box-girder with prestress, the amount of displacement, the amount of stress at the flange and eigenvalue are analyzed by the finite element analysis. And the possibility of expansion of bridge length in same section is presented. Finite element analysis are conducted with MIDAS/CIVIL program. The behavior of the steel-girder bridge with prestress is investigated through experimental works on I-beam model, and their results are compared with those of analytical studies. From these results, the steel-bridge with prestress is verified the effect of prestress and the possibility of expansion of bridge length is suggested.
