    When planning the air conditioning system for museums, it is important, from the view point the reality that our country has little energy resource, that it(air conditioning system) have a. type of controlling and heating resource which can keep the indoor temperature and moisture in control, and can efficiently operate energy to save. In this regard, this study analyses the type of air conditioning system and the operation in major museums, classify both relics for exhibition and kept in storage based on the controlling method and the type of the heating resources by the typical air conditioning systems, invariable and variable ventilation. and estimate the influence of these factors on energy consumption and an environment of indoor temperature and moisture. The results put as follows. 1. The analysis of museum operation said that it had the heating-resource consistent with the requirements for both categories, exhibition items and storage kept items, and had their conditioning zoning, but the air conditioning is so occasionally operated that the temperature and moisture could not keep the items consistent with the requirements, and could not control the possible energy saving area. Therefore it can be said that with the identified problems a measure should be taken in terms of distribution(transportation), controlling and healing resources to, on the one hand, help the items keep consistent with the requirements, on the other hand, could save some energy by efficiently using it. 2. This study examined the influence of distribution, controlling and heat-resource system on the energy consumption and an environment of temperature and moisture by applying the 38 factors of 12 categories such as the temperature and moisture, the amount of ventilation, cooling by outer air, and thermal returns, all of which vary by the scope of cooling and heating temperature and the requirements for eliminating or adding the moisture, and by applying the 10 factors of 3 heating resource items such as the type and numbers of the unit of cooling and heating resource, after hearing expert's view of point about possible energy saving measures to be taken for exhibition and storage kept relics, based on the both typical systems, invariable and variable ventilation. 3. The analyzed results above say that while in case of a type of distribution system, the annual consumption of energy Per unit area used by variable system is 61.2% of that of invariable system for exhibition relics, 57.0% for storage kept relics, in case of total cost, the exhibition relics was 65.8% compared with a 51.8% of storage kept relics. It means that the variable ventilation system controls the ventilation by load changes, and when it is loaded in part the consumption of returning energy is decreasing. 4. From the view point of keeping an environment of temperature and moisture, the invariable ventilation is better than the variable one, especially, in keeping specified value of moisture. It is because compared with variable ventilation which controls the ventilation amount by changing temperature, Invariable one has more rich ventilation and keeps much more safe, and In the zone where the load is almost even, it can achieve a high quality of air conditioning and the stable and evenly distributed air as well.
