(The) Effects of αwave Meditation Music on Elementary School Students' Emotional Intelligence

The purpose of this study is to find whether αwave Meditation Music effect a change on the elementary school students' emotional intelligence. Masan 'A' elementary school fifth grade students were chosen and divided into an exprimental group(38 students) and a controlled group(39 students) as study objectives. 'Om, The Reverberation of Source' and 'Welcome to My World' in the Synchronicity Contemporary Meditation Technology Music were used as The Testing Tool of the αwave meditation music. The experimental group had meditation listening to αwave meditation musics during self-regulation class in the morning for five weeks. The controlled group was tested without practicing meditation. The test sheets about emotional intelligence devised by Moon Yong-ryn(1997) for the high grades in an elementary school was used The Measuring Tool. Emotional intelligence test was practiced twice, pre-test and post-test at the same time. Then it was done statistically through statistics package, spss. Impression recording was recorded on march 10, the first Meditation, March 29, the third week, April 12, the fifth week and then the result was analyzed qualitatively. The conclusion through this process is as follows; 1. αwave Meditation Music has an effect on elementary school students' emotional intelligence. 2. αwave Meditation Music has effect on elementary school student' emotional intelligence of emotion recognition, emotion regulation. But it doesn't have an effect on elementary school students' emotional intelligence of emotion expression, empathy, emotion application. We can find αwave Meditation Music has effects on elementary school students' emotional intelligence.
