    The Internet can be thought of as the greatest invention of the 20th century because by having access to a PC terminal with Internet accesses you can breakdown the barriers of time and distance. The Internet's strength is that it is not limited by distance or time of day that transactions can be made. The Internet will play the role of unifying the world and the transactions on the web will link each country, region, corporation, and individual. The Internet will be used as a tool to unify the world, but it will only be able to be used for the purpose of communication unless the quality of the products and process of purchasing online is improved. In reality electronic commerce has surpassed the mathematical laws of economics the 'New Economics of Internet", and its use is becoming widespread. Purchasing online is possible 24 hours a day and it saves time to purchase things. It is convenient and has some good points, but it is not the most ideal situation because the problems that have occurred to consumers. For example when an order something online and it is not sent or if it is sent then the item turns out to be different then the advertised item. Also a website that made an agreement with a consumer receives payment and disappears. My main thesis is regarding the negative impact of electronic commerce to consumers and the process to alleviate these problems. About 50% of the Internet users worry about privacy online. Currently problems are occurring with the personal information(individual profile, activity) is being exposed. A service is needed to protect an individual's privacy and information, and a guarantee is needed of the quality of products that are sold online. Therefore the only way to resolve some of these issues in this age of the Internet is to educate Internet users with help from other individuals, corporations and the government. Lastly individual credit in the Internet will be the backbone in proliferating the development of the Internet. The protection of the consumer needs to be a focal point of the Internet development in order to increase transactions online as consumers will be cautious to use the Internet because of the problems that exist today.
