    The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of multi-media fairy tales centered whole language approach on the word cognition and reading comprehension of children with reading disabilities. To achieve this purpose, we choose six elementary school students with reading disabilities on the second grade and enforced the training in the resource room in S elementary school in Changwon. five times per week for 40 minutes a session, totally 40 sessions for eight weeks. We searched the changes by uniting the two subordinative fields of the word cognition and reading comprehension as one, enforced repeated measure two-way ANOVA and proved the meaningful difference at p=.05 level. We enforced a nonparametric test considering the characteristics of population. In addition, we investigated the word cognition and reading comprehension divided two kinds of subordinative abilities, enforced repeated measured analysis of variance and proved a meaningful difference between prior, post and supporting tests at p=.05 level. And the results are like followings. First, multi-media fairy tales centered whole language approach had a positive effect on talent of word and reading comprehension of children with reading disabilities. The average mark of children with reading disabilities was improved from 8.18% at prior test to 8.40% at post test, statistically meaningful difference was indicated as F=53.078, p
