    The Camellia japonica vegetation in Korean peninsula was investigated by the methology of the Z-M school and Ordination Analysis of phytosociology from May, 1999 to February, 2003. The vegetation table and the synthesis table of Camellion japonicae were arranged for association classification from 263 quadrats. The result of Cluster analysis using TWINSPAN showed that the Camellia japonica in Korean peninsula was differential species of an evergreen broad-leaved tree and had a high similarity with Machilus thunbergii, Pinus thunbergii, Cinnamomum japonicum, Neolitsea sericea, Litsea japonica, Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii, Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii, Ligustrum japonicum, Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, Hedera rhombea etc. The result of factor analysis by DECORANA showed an arrangement based on the distribution zones of species. Species diversity index (H') was high in Querco acutae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(1.802), Castanopo cuspidatae var. sieboldii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(1.611), Pino thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(1.586), Machilo thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(1.570), maximum possible species diversity index (H' max) was high in Machilo thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(2.250), Pino thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(2.276).and dominance index(1-J) was high in Camellietum japonicae typicum ass. nov.(0.430), Neolito sericae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(0.460) There were communities which similarity index for each association was high, It was as follows ; Machilo thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.―Lito japonicae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(95.2), Pino thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.―Lito japonicae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(92.2), Pino thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.―Castanopo cuspidatae var. thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(89.2), Machilo thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.―Castanopo cuspidatae var. thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.(88.1). According to the Affinity analysis between species, species which show plus correlation were 39, species which show a high correlation(++) of below 1% were 8, and species which show relatively a high correlation(+) of below 5% were 31. it was a high correlations(++) as follows ; Pinus thunbergii-Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii, Pinus thunbergii-Cymbidium goeringii, Pinus thunbergii-Carex lanceolata, Machilus thunbergii-Ardisia japonica, Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii-Lemmaphyllum microphyllum, Cinnamomum japonicum-Neolitsea sericea, Litsea japonica-Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii-Lozoste lancifolia. The life form spectrum on the total 516 species which appeared in this research was as follows ; Phanerophytes 44.19%, Hemicryptophytes 18.60, Geophytes 18.60%, Therophytes 10.27%, Chamaephytes 5.43%, Epiphytes 1.00%. Thus, the plants distribution of Camellia japonica communities may be a phanerophyte climatic zone, because Phanerophyte was the most(45.2%) and the fact was very similar with Normal spectrum of Raunkiaer(43%). The result of the research on the stratification of the associations of Camellia japonica showed that average height of tree-1 layer was 9.76m, mean coverage 84.05%, and average height of tree-2 layer was 5.19m, mean coverage 74.68%. So, crown of this communities was well developed, whereas lower layer vegetation was rare mean coverage below 50%. The vegetation of Camellia japonica forest is divided into one alliance including nine new associations : Camellietum japonicae typicum ass. nov., separate into nine associations, Machilo thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Pino thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Castanopo cuspidatae var. sieboldii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Lito japonicae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Castanopo cuspidatae var. thunbergii-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Querco acutae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Neolito sericae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov., Cinnamomo japonicae-Camellietum japonicae ass. nov.
