    Neutralization-titration, measurement of reaction times, and oxidation-reduction titration are included in the high school curriculum, but quantitative experiments are avoided because of the difficulty of complex preparation and inaccuracies in chemical experiments. In order to help solve this problems, we constructed an automatic device employing photo-sensors and compared results from the device with those from manual methods. Using the constructed device, we analyzed vitamin C included in fruit drinks and the measurement of reaction times connected with chemical kinetics. Above all we could measure continuously the time required for color changes from colorless to orange and back to colorless. Applying this apparatus to fundamental experiments in chemistry, we obtained good results. This device can be constructed inexpensively and has the advantage that the waste of chemicals is minimized, as the experiments can be accomplished with a small amount of reactants.
