    The ultimate purpose of Music Education is to develope humanity by proper musical experience and to develope student's emotion and originality. It forms harmonious personality. And it gives students chances to experience aesthetic sense and to form musical concept, and it makes students express their own feeling creatively through musical activities. These chances should be given students during their classes. Therefore the Music textbook which is used in their classes is very important. I compared and analyzed the content of the lecture and the activities in class included in nine kinds of Music textbook in 8th grade approved by Ministry of Education Authourity. The results are as follows. First, the proportion of the instrumental music to all the musics recorded in Music textbook is 13.22%. And pure instrumental music and instrumental music with singing are in the ratio of 39.00% to 61.00%. The latter is higher than the former. Also Western instrumental music and Korean instrumental music are in the ratio of 57.81% to 42.19%. That is to say, learning Western instrumental music is given much more weight in comparsion with Koreans. We should treat pure instrumental music as frequently as instrumental music with singing. In that way, we should give students chances that can play not only solo but also duet or ensemble instrumental musics. In other words, we should give students more variety. and students will be able to enjoy and feel good about music by having more various sound of instrument. Second, In all the musics recorded in nine kinds of Music textbook in 8th grade, the musics which aims at all of three or two of them, that is, constituent, principles of expression and development of musical performance ability are 87.50% high. However there is the textbook which chooses single learning object among them. They are 12.50%. Therefore it is needed to state lesson objects explicitly, concerning all of them. And In activities of instrumental musics which is recorded in Music textbook, the musics recorded in Music textbook covering one of the these-main activity, the instrumental activity and secondary activity, singing, composition and appreciation are 40.62%. And The musics recorded in Music textbook covering both main and secondary activities are 35.94%. On the other hand, In the Music textbook published by Teasung, the instrumental musics recorded in Music textbook which is not covering instrumental activities are 20.00%. Though they are instrumental musics, they are not covering the instrumental activities. For synthetic teaching, each textbook should center music learning points on the instrumental activities with singing, composition and appreciation. Third, musical performances which is presented in instrumental musics recorded in Music textbook need variety. Most instrumenal music recorded in Music textbooks consist of instrumental ensemble. In the middle school, we should give students chances to play not only solo but also duet, trio to express their originality. Therefore, in each textbook, we should present various instrumental music in order that students can experience various musical performance. Fourth, In the Music textbook in nine kinds of Music textbook in 8th grade, the kinds of musical instruments used for instrumental learning activities are 26. There are 19 western musical instruments and 7 Korean traditional musical instruments. Each nine kinds of Music textbook has difference a little in instrumental learning performances. Still, it is clear that these have a preference for western musical instrument. It is recommended that students make and use rhythm musical instrument in their own way in order to let them participate in musical activities and are familiar with music. Fifth, nine kinds of Music textbook in 8th grade hold 26 kinds of musical instrument And only 17 kinds of musical instruments of these have techniques at the rate of 65.38%. Though each publishers have differences a little in techniques, anyway they are covering it centering the musical instrument used in the instrumental music recorded in Music textbook. Before performing the instrumental music, it is important that students should take some time to learn how to use and keep the musical instruments with preliminary knowledge. Therefore we should present correct techniques of appointed musical instruments in the instrumental performances.
