(A) Study on Reinforcing the Relationship between Computer Education and Qualification System in a Vocational High School

In this thesis, the curriculum of computer education on '7th national curriculum' and the related curricular activities in vocational high school were studied from a vocational education point of view. And also merits, demerits, problems of qualification system and ways of betterment were investigated. Afterwards some ways of reinforcing relationship between computer education and qualification system in vocational high school were considered. The aim of this study was to derive suggestions from the research on the actual condition of the relationship between educational system and qualification system in vocational school in korea through the predesigned questionnaire along with the cases of developed countries. In chapter Ⅰ, the purpose of this study were described. In chapter Ⅱ, merits, demerits and ways of betterment were described on the curriculum of computer and the qualification system in vocational high school in korea. In chapter Ⅲ, the cases of developed country on the curriculum of computer and the qualification system in vocational high school were reviewed. In chapter Ⅳ, making and analysis of the questionnaire were described. In chapter Ⅴ, the result of this study and the suggested ways of betterment were described. Followings are the suggestions resulted from this study. Firstly, It was needed to teach intensively the essence that is most applicable for the future jobs. For this, a fixed official standard should be developed, as is the case with British Commonwealth of Nations. Secondly, classroom-centered student apprentice should be substituted with new programs which provide students with various official skills needed in the future. Lastly, qualification system should be correlated with educational system. As is the case with England, The qualification could be reflected in the entrance of a school of higher grade. Or Japanses policy could be adopted that a qualification acquired in the high school should be approved as a credit just like other subjects. Qualifications should be approved as a consequence of education.
