  • 초록

    A new rectifier and controlled switch for generator excitation system is presented in this paper. The static excitation system for synchronous generator is a self excitation system and is supplied from generator terminal through a step down transformer. The conventional phase controlled rectifier type is replaced by a PWM control type buck converter. In buck converter, output voltage is controlled in proportion to duty ratio. Generally, the buck converter controls generator terminal voltage under normal operating condition without any disturbance of converter input power. But the buck converter has field forcing capability by using discharge voltage of capacitor under abnormal operating condition status status like three phase fault. The operation of proposed system was verified by a PSIM simulation tools and an experimetal prototype. This system can be utilized in the power supply for AC/DC converter and power plant rectifier for brushless excitation system.
