This Thesis is about a composer ISang Yun's musical principles, background and life. It is the study and the analysis about a Instrumental Concerto,「Konzert fu¨r Klarinette und Kleines Orchester」 belonging to 3rd period of Yun Isang's Work. After early 20 century, the interest in Asian music as one of the trend in modern musical world is the background for his work of music. Recognition of the cultural difference between the East and the West provided the aesthetic background, which is enabled him to use the East Asian elements for musical fundamentals. Taoism, the essence of aesthetic, is foundational ground for a conception of Asian sound as a philosophical background by including a conception of Asian sound, Jeong Jung Dong and formal aspect. And also, Hauptton, Hauptklang, Nonghyuntechnik, Umspielung and Klanfarbenkomposition, which are his musical techniques derive from Taoism. This principle appears in all his works, as his technique. Moreover, in the work「Konzert fur Klarinette und Kleines Orchester」, which was analyzed in this report, the same musical expression was used as he did in his other works. His music in which East Asian elements are suggested as a method to conceive an musical idea has a great deal of effect upon not only Europe but also Korean modern music with original and creative musical principle. Besides, by observing the detailed musical proofs and composer's musical thought that appeared through work analysis, I'd like to present the methodology of modernization and globalization of Korean traditional music with the composer and his works.
