(A) Study on Implementation of Ubiquitous House

The advent of computers and the Internet enabled the analogue reality to be transformed into the virtual reality in the virtual space using digital technology. And as technology is more and more evolved and developed, computers and the Internet are ubiquitously installed in home and electric appliances, possible to realize spacial changes practically leading the physical and natural world to the digitalized. And the development of technology speeds the spread of the domain of the electronic space, as creating new networks between the cyber space and physical space, and digitalizing the physical area more widely. We've entered not in the era where the computer just reproduces the 'virtual reality' in the cyber space, but in the era where the computer functions a part of our actual life in reality. The technology that brought us to such an era is the ubiquitous computing, which is the fundamental structure to provide a wide range of services by the use of the computing resources that are ubiquitous in our dailylife whenever and wherever users use them. In the same context, the ubiquitous house means a house that is always accessible anywhere and anytime, as the terminology, ubiquitous, implies what it is. In order for a user to access regardless of time and location, it is necessary to have some elements able to informatize the house other than physical architectural factors. In that sense, the sensor can be used. The ubiquitous house can be regarded as a smart house with sensors. The sensors do not just manually operate the house. Rather, it can be considered to represent an informatized house where the patterns of resident activities and situations to take place could be anticipated. The context information contains details of circumstance in which a house is placed, required for the house to appropriately respond contexts. In this thesis, I propose how to realize the home network system according to house types to build up the ubiquitous house fitted to our real situation with respect to house informatization, and proposes a way of creating the contexts, which can be used in common for all services. In addition, by creating contexts necessary for various sensors and applications in use of standardized information and presenting service scenarios using those contexts, it will help build the ubiquitous environment, which will be deployed in a future.
