    Trichinosis is one of the most widespread helminthic zoonoses. The infection with Trichinella spiralis showed strong protective immune responses in experimental animals. Many studies revealed the association between the protective immunity and T helper subset. Mice became resistant to Trichuris muris when Schistosoma mansoni infection. The recovery of Strongyloides venezue-lensis adult worms from the small intestine was significantly decreased by S. mansoni infectcion. Some studies were carried out on protective mechanisms in coinfections The aim of this study is to observe protective immunity, antibody responses and cytokine production against Trichinella spiralis infection in rat concurrently infected with C. hepatica. Rats were infected with 2000 embryonated eggs of C. hepatica and challenge infections were performed with 1000 larvae of T. spiralis at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks of C. hepatica. Experimental animals were divided into 8 groups ; normal control (Gn), C. hepatica alone (Gc), T. spiralis alone (Gt), coinfection groups (Gc+t, G1, G2, G3 and G4). Then spleen and sera were collected to test cytokine and antibody isotype (IgG1, IgG2a and IgM) responses. As a results, numbers of T. spiralis adult worm recovered from intestine in Gt, Gc+t, G1, G2, G3, G4 turned out to be 437.6, 235, 201.0, 218.6, 142.1 and 75.5, respectively.
