    The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of parents' rearing attitudes on multiple intelligences and academic achievement, the effects of multiple intelligences on academic achievement. There research questions were as follows: 1) Are there any differences on multiple intelligences to the levels of parents' rearing attitudes? 2) Are there any differences on academic achievement according to the levels of parents' rearing attitudes? 3) Are there any differences on academic achievement according to the levels of multiple intelligences? The subjects in this study were 240 students selected two elementary school in Daegu. The instruments for this study were modified from parents' rearing attitudes scale by Jeong Won-Sik(1984) and Multiple Intelligences Development Assessment Scale(Shearer, 1995) and K-MIDAS(Hyunjin Kim, 1998) for multiple intelligences test. The reliability of multiple intelligence test and parents' rearing attitudes test respectively were α= .95 and α= .83 and these were found to be comparatively reliable tests. The data was analyzed by MANOVA. The results of this research were as follows. 1. There were significant differences on multiple intelligences according to high-low levels of parents' rearing attitudes. That is the students who had higher ranks of parents' rearing attitudes showed high multiple intelligences. 2. There were significant differences on academic achievement according to high-low levels of parents' rearing attitudes. That is, the students who had higher rank of parents' rearing attitudes showed high academic achievement. 3. There were significant differences on academic achievement according to high-low levels of multiple intelligences. This study proved some positive inter-influences among parents' rearing attitudes, multiple intelligences and academic achievement. Therefore this study suggested the desirable parents' rearing attitudes such as achieves, openness, affection, autonomy in bring up children for improvement of multiple intelligences. And the possibility of the harmonious development among subject contents, functions and affective domain through the development of multiple intelligences in the educational setting.
