This study developed the program for optimum design and structural analysis of Light Rail Transit PSC Box-Girder Bridges. In this program it is able to perform simultaneously both structural analysis and optimum design of variable cross sections considering with the construction stage of the PSC Box-Girder Bridges. The length, reinforced area and section dimensions of crossing zone of the PSC Box-Girder Bridges are made into a design variable. Minimum cost of the structure is used as an objective function for the process of optimization. Design constraints required for the design of PSC Box-Girder Bridges were made to be based on the structural design specification for Korean railroad bridges. For the structural analysis, a finite element formulation in the two-dimensional problem is presented. Among several optimization techniques such as SLP, SQP and SUMT, SUMT which has been proved by many studies is incorporated into the optimum design program. In optimum design examples, optimum design cost related to span length is investigated.
