    An efficiency of the Training Program for the First-Class Science Teachership is investigated via questionnaires and analyses of textbooks. The trainee's expectations were surveyed before the training taking place and the evaluations on the contents of the lectures delivered during the training were collected from the trainees at the Training Institute at Kyungpook Natioanl University (KNU) in the year of 2002. Science teachers from Daegu-city, Kyungsangpook-Do and Kyungsangnam-Do Provinces as trainees answered that they would prefer separate programs of their major field for the Common Science and the specialized field, such as one of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Earth Science, each including the contents and the teaching methods, as well as the laboratory classes. They considered that the appropriate teaching level is similar to the general education course in the college. They expected to learn practical sciences related with daily life, up-to-date technologies, and some introductory courses of the advanced researches. Most of their demands are already included in the program at the KNU institution, although the emphasis is payed on different aspects. The textbooks for the Training Program were collected from the selected institutions over the country where training takes place and analyzed them. It was found that the program highly depends on the available instructors at the institutions and, therefore, varies depending on the institutions. This implies that at most institutions the Training Program is made for the educator to teach comfortably rather than for the trainee to learn profitable knowledges. It is therefore necessary to establish a nation-wide program for the training of the First-Class Science Teachership which may be commonly utilized at all institutions. We suggest some guidelines for such a program for Physics.
