Now is the time for knowledge and information society; thus, so many phases of our society are needed to be reformed. Among those, there are issues of 'restructuring the idea and the purpose of education' and 'reorganizing the contents and the way of education.' Education is a kind of cooperative work between teachers and learners; naturally, there are calls for the new roles and images of teachers who are in charge of the main role in educational system. So the people who are related to education tend to insist that the results of education can be controlled by teachers and, thus, there cannot be an education going beyond the capabilities of teachers. Meanwhile, the age we should get through seems the period of science and technology; we may notice that the position women are taking up is relatively and considerably low in science and technology area. So we must examine the situation into details from the middle and high school that might be the fundamentals for cultivating the human-power in science and technology. Therefore, to improve the situation of low-commitment of women in science and to raise her interest in it, teachers who play the most leading role in education should upgrade themselves. In these context, this study will clarify the features of science teachers whom middle and high school female students like. I hope to use these results as basis of interest and motivation for female students learning science. The features of science teachers whom the middle and high school female students like can be summarized as follows: 1) Middle school female students tend to prefer male teachers to female one. On the other hand, high school female students don't concern about the sex of their teachers. Generally, female students don't mind whether their teachers are married or not. 2) Female students like science teachers who pronounces cheerfully and uses plain expressions. 3) Female students tend to prefer science teachers who work together with their students at the same point of view and with up-to-the-minute scientific information. Now the degree of preference for science teachers tends to decrease as the students go to higher grades; at the same time, high school students show an inclination that if their scores are at the highest position, they like present science teachers. Then, female science teachers, in comparison with the male ones, relatively understand the minds of the female students well and comprehend the features of the ideal image of science teachers.
