    The process of problem solving has four stages, such as understanding, planning, execution, and review. To enhance students' ability of problem solving, we have to start to examine their reading comprehension of problem sentences. In this study, we have developed a teat for measuring the students' reading comprehension of science sentence. The 16 sentences used as preliminary rest are classified into four subcategories, such as expressing the logic as numerical formula, making visualization, expressing as free-body diagram, and representing graph. A total or 849 middle school students were needed for taking the test. After item analysis and factor analysis for the test, we had 12 questions dealing with three subcategories, expressing the logic as numerical formula, making visualization, expressing as free-body diagram and graph. Average discrimination index of the test was 0.42, and index of difficulties was 52.0%.
