People who have a great idea or various problem solving ways will lead this world in the competitive and knowledge-based society. So It will be necessary for the science teachers to have their in-service training for the better understanding of the concept of creativity and its technical knowledge, because science is closely related with creativity and essential to the development of society. The purpose of this study is to analyse how effective the science teacher's overseas creativity in-service training in 2001 through 2004 was for the students' creativity education and to find out the improvement plan for the better in-service training program. The conclusions drawn from the effect of the overseas science teachers' creativity in-service training are as follows. First, those who joined creativity in-service training or who didn't agreed that the most important element for the success of the creativity education is the understanding and the perception of the need of the creativity education and they all had the positive attitude towards it. Second, science teacher perceive that science is the most proper and best subject in the creativity education of the students. Third, Most of all, the experience of the creativity in-service training made them keep interest in the research and became the motive of it. Four, the overseas creativity in-service training participants were very satisfied with the in-service training, and they thought the creativity education of the country they joined were quite good, because the diverse education system and entrance system, and endless discussion and question: answer, talking about topic in class. Five, classes of overseas in-service training participants were much more effective than other ordinary science teachers' classes in the application of the acquired approaches and cases depended on the individual. Six, the way of the class, the frequence of the questions, the frequence of interaction between teacher and the students in the class, time for the students' thinking and the tolerant class environment leading to a prolific thinking. Furthermore, they consciously tried to derive creativity from the students' during the class. Seven, it's necessary to develop and provide the teaching and learning model of the creativity class in view of applying to the creativity class easily. The suggestion & conclusions drawn from the results obtained in this study were as follows. First, it is necessary to publish a new text book for the training and to have more field trips and school visits for practical use. Second it's more available to invite prominent scholar majored in creativity to Korea and let Korean science teachers listen to his lecture(theory and cases). Then more science teachers will have the chance for the advanced and better creativity in-service training here in Korea. Third, overseas in-service training participants will have more time to visit schools and experience the culture and society of the host country. Four, there should be more efficient equipments such as computers for the web-surfing, arrangement of the in-service training materials and research data, screen and films. Five, it is necessary to have the backup of the creativity education with the flexible schedule of the science classes each school and the management and support of the creativity-related in-service training center by education board. Six, In-service training participants hoped to have another opportunity to keep abreast of their technical knowledge and better understanding of the creativity and improve it. and a very positive response that the depth and time of the training would be different in order to get the continuity and systematic management of the in-service training was shown.
