The traditional fine art can be said to be the culture soil that has grown spontaneously as our nation has lived on this land in the long history and as such, it bears peculiarity with which it distinguishes the culture of our nation. Since the aesthetic consciousness and culture of the nation are contained in the tradition, it can be conceptualized as their own order which is alive in the history and culture of the nation. Furthermore, it is possible to know the exchange and flow with other nation and the global order as well as the history and culture of own nation. Moreover, it becomes foundation that is related to the past, enriches the present life and creates new culture in that it is not merely the heritage of the past. The traditional fine art has large educational value in that the abundant tradition of the past owned by us can create higher and new culture when it is understood by education and creation of new culture is impossible when tradition of the past is poor or it is not understood and utilized by education. When it comes to the traditional fine art, we often meet the problem of discerning the original matters from alien matters. However, all traditional culture contains both alien property and peculiarity owing to its own character. In the traditional culture, the relation between alien property and peculiarity can be compared to the newly gushed spring water that is produced by rainwater which permeates and percolates underground. As spring water and rainwater is obviously distinguished, it is not important whether traditional fine art is affected by alien matters or not, but it is necessary to pay attention to how our nation recreated it in own way. Each country in the world has own history and tradition. Having long history, our nation has created peculiar traditional culture. Since the history and traditional culture in which we take pride are the root that our ancestors have devotedly built, developed and protected, we should create new culture, being proud of the history and tradition handed over by our ancestors. Notwithstanding, viewing our present reality, we often find children and juveniles who neglect or are totally unaware of our peculiar traditional culture and the soul of ancestors ingrained in it owing to the blind introduction of Western thought and material civilization. The meaning of tradition does not lie in the fact that it completes a certain form or establishes value in the past. What is important is the meaning that the spirit of the time when it was completed bears for the contemporary human life. Thus, 'Korean beauty' should keep own value that can give sympathy not only to the time when it was completed but also to the descendant. That is, it should contain potential that can last perpetually in new shape, transcending time and space. Entering the age of internationalization and opening, the world is gradually changing into the age of cultural competition. It is necessary to correctly understand our cultural tradition in order to subjectively cope with such trend. As live sense of value for everyday life instead of heritage of the past, tradition should take root in the presence. The modeling consciousness of Korean beauty rooted in the tradition should live and move in the education for students, naturally permeating out of our life. Korean fine art can settle in the world only when it maximizes its own Korean property. We should provide the students who do not know our own matters and are sensitive to alien culture and fashion with opportunity to contact our matters in the first place. Moreover, it is necessary to let them recognize the concept of culture and history that our matters are eventually connected to the world. To do so, it is necessary to provide juveniles in contemporary times with spiritual abundance through education of fine art that is connected to the traditional fine art in which healthy life is ingrained. Tradition can create higher and new culture when it is understood and developed by education. The traditional fine art has large educational value in that creation of new culture cannot connect the line of tradition when tradition of the past is poor and it is not understood and utilized by education. The teachers of fine art as educators should deliver it to the next generation in right way and let students have right consciousness and vision. Discarding the obsolete way, we should pursue method in which right recognition on our matters can take priority. If the teachers at the site of education of fine art develop instruction program for tradition fine art suitable to students and apply it to the class, we can elevate the pride in our traditional culture and inherit national spirit, thereby creating cultural heritage which is resuscitated in contemporary times. This education will make a way by which we can succeed the glorious soul of ancestors and show the excellence of our nation to the world with pride.
