Due to the advance of digital media, digital image has been widely used. Recently, we can easily obtain the digital image by a digital camera or camcorder. Unfortunately, the digital image directly obtained by image sensor is different from that recognized by human. In order to acquire the good quality of the digital image, the appropriate image processing is required. This thesis present the gamma correction and white balance correction implemented on digital signal processor. To perform the gamma correction, the new gamma table is designed in consideration of the real CMOS sensor characteristic and the general gamma characteristic. The result image show the appropriate luminance value of the corrected image. The color of an acquired image varies in according with the light source. Thus, the white balance correction is required to present the suitable color. The proposed algorithm is performed in the consideration of various light conditions. After the white area of the acquired image is selected, the condition of various light source is measured. And the white balance correction based on the measured data is performed.
