In this dissertation the conclusions as follows can be obtained from the numerical analysis about the flow and thermal performance of molten iron in TLC Vessel. First, After a vessel receiving molten iron, the flow starts from the center and the cone part of the vessel. And the flow velocity of the cone part having relatively small area is larger than that of the center. Furthermore, due to friction between the vessel and the refractory bricks, the velocity decreases around the contact region. Second, There is about 70℃ difference of the temperature measured from the center to the cone part. And the difference between the data of the numerical analysis and those of the measured is likely caused by no temperature variation of molten iron due to non-contact with air layer by the assumption of no opened hole for the numerical model. Third, The internal flow in the narrow space occurs in the region of the cone wall as well. Therefore, the thickness of the refractory bricks built is needed to be 350mm equally for the top and the bottom area that differs from 300mm for the top and 350mm for the bottom.
