    We tried this study to provide some help for children to have a career awareness from childhood, to discover their interest, aptitude, ability etc. in an early period by adapting suitable educational methods for career awareness and to prepare life that the children can apply to their future lives by presenting wide information and knowledge on modern fields of work to the children who are on the recognition stage of job education. We intended to investigate the effect of a job project program on the child's career awareness by applying the program, a kind of career awareness program, which is one of the unified curriculums that can help the children who are on the recognition stage of job education to develop the whole personality harmoniously, based on this necessity of the study We set up the concrete hypotheses to achieve these study objects like followings : First, what degree is the children's career awareness? Second, the level of career awareness of the children who had some classes for job project can be improved? The researcher of this study used the career awareness program in this study which was developed and enforced by the researcher based on the previous studies, and reconstructed and used the questionnaire on career awareness which had been developed by Lee, Eun-Suk in 1996 to measure the degree of children's career awareness. The subjects of 20 boys and 20 girls for this study were drawn from the whole children of a nursery located in JinJu city after a complete survey. The activities in job project classes were carried out to 10 boys and 10 girls before school in the experimental group for 3 weeks from April, 1st in 2004 to April, 24th in 2004. The results are as followings : As a results of investigating the degree of children's career awareness after applying job project classes, First, in the result of posttest on the degree of career awareness, the awareness of experimental group applied job project classes appeared higher than the one of control group. We can guess that job project class has a positive effect on improving children's career awareness from this result. Second, in the result of posttest on the degree of career awareness, the experimental group applied job project class as a group had more significant difference than the control group in all of the four low-ranking areas of career awareness level such as awareness of ego, awareness of job value and importance, awareness of fields of work, and awareness of parents job.
