(A) Study on nutritional status of residents in Tong-Yeong area

This study was conducted to provide basic information for health status and nutritional status of local residents who classify roughly as dong, eub-myon, island. The Food intake, food habits, stress and health-related factors were surveyed by mail and interview method. The subjects were 1,303 people (583 male, 720 female), adultman more than 20 years old in Tong-Yeong area. The obtainted results as follows. 1. Investigation object person's man and woman distribution was 44.7%, 55.3%. 30-49 age group( male 41.6%, female 44.2%) was a person who was most many. Get married was most much by 71.4%, unemployed by 26.4% and uneducated by 30.1%. More than junior college and high school graduation did that standard of living was high. 2. The man and woman each meal the evening, the morning of skipping a meal rate was most highest. Snack kind selected fruit and juice, higher than eub-myon and island in dong area. Eating out intake frequency did not almost high particularly island area. 3. Stress level by a man and woman each 51.2%, 49.9% fold little, and stress type all man and woman economic problems choose first. But man selected company problem and woman did health as 2 orders were different. Profession which fatigue degree was high and did not feel almost stress was unemployed. but standard of living and education level were high appeared that receive much. 4. Woman and dong resident were self-perceived health status fair many. Three local areas showed that different. Attainments in education level and standard of living are high, self-perceived status displayed better result fatigue and stress level was low. A person who disease was arthritis(24.7%), diabetes(18.0%), high blood pressure(14.3%) order which was cycle and island area showed the high medical examination rate by 53. 8%. 10-20 cigarette 40.2% of smoking was most much day as man 57.5%, woman 11. 0% smoking and drinking first age were more at 20-29 persons. island area 20 ages low by 92.0% in teenagers season experience did. Attainments in education level was low, standard of living, self-perceived status were more than standard, stress level was high had much drinking. Smoking appeared from administrator and salesman to that self-perceived status dis much in fair more. The experience of health food consumption was woman who took vitamin and mineral supplement, man took health food, chinese medicine and toner food were high in island area. 5. Intake frequency of marine products and seaweeds kind of island area was most highest. 6. The nutritional intake ratio to RDA% was generally low. Especially, the intake of energy, Ca, Fe, Zn, vit. A, vit. B_(1), vit. B_(2), Folic acid were extremely low. Woman had much in quantity than man. Branch number ingested variously by vegetable property food 30-32 branches, animal food 3-4 branch. All areas and local residents exceeded nutrient INQ 1, more than MAR 0.75. Man and island area could knew that quality of meal overmatched. Education level, married, standard of living, self-perceived status, stress, smoking, alcohol drinking, sport did almost effect on their nutritional intake. In conclusion, the study shows that gender did influence on food intake in Tong-Yeong. Quality of meal in island area depends on marine products and seaweeds, so think entirely ideal. Therefore, food intake is cheap through esteemed education to individual group and nutrient sees abundant foods that esteemed daughter support policy of national dimension need to be enforced as doing public information. For the successful life, the program for Tong-Yeong residents are needed by government level, actions to provide minimum economic life, food delivery and psychological, physical health care through regional public health center.
