Since the discovery of high temperature superconductors in 1986 by Karl A. Muller and A. Bednortz, a new interest for power application began to appear and the feasibility came to be high now. This paper deals with electric field analysis for a high temperature superconducting(HTS) transformer. The transformer will be developed in the shell type with double pan-cake coil. Double pan-cake coil is the structure that can wind two coils without cutting conductor. We discussed about electric field analysis in coil to coil, section to section and the whole HTS transformer. Influence of creep distance and utilization factor of electric field are considered between section and section of winding in LN_(2). For the development of superconduting power apparatus, it is necessary to establish the dielectric technology in coolant like LN_(2). We discussed about the effect of bubble position and the particle position in LN_(2). This research presented basis information of electrical insulation design for double pan-cake coil type HTS transformer.
