Consolidation property for large consolidation test

On the soft ground, the constant of consolidation(Cc and Cv) is very important data. But, the specimen of the standard consolidation test is smaller than layer of actual ground. So it is difficult that constant of consolidation to apply to actual ground. In this study, we performed large consolidation. Through we compared results of the standard consolidation test with these of the large consolidation test, we tried to find out relationship between the standard consolidation test and the large consolidation test. In the large consolidation, we estimated final settlement by means of the perdition method using hyperbolic and Asaoka method. The results of study are as follows. As Cv of the standard consolidation test is bigger than the large consolidation test, if it is applied to actual ground, we are able to estimate that consolidation is finished at early period. On the other hand, Cc of the standard consolidation test is similar to the large consolidation test. As Back-analysis is similar to the settlement by actual measurement, we find that it is a useful method. In the case of property of soil, compression ratio, unit weight and Cu(undrained Strength) are the biggest at surface.
