    The purpose of Artificial floating islands installation was to purify water and enhance the landscape. Artificial floating islands were mainly planted with aquatic plants which flowering from June to September. This study was conducted to investigate of media composition and selection of suitable floricultural crops for the artificial floating islands to purpose environmental improvement and correspondence of landscape enhancement. The effects of medium composition on the growth characteristics of several floricultural crops on the artificial floating islands were as follow; Primrose, Japanese iris, apple mint and pineapple mint could be suitable plants for the artificial floating island, but spray chrysanthemum 'Chease Peake' was not suitable. The growth of primrose and Japanese iris was good with 25% perlite, however apple mint and pineapple mint was good with all treatments. As perlite contents increasing, the primrose's water contents decreased. However, Japanese iris and spray chrysanthemum 'Chease Peake' were reverse. The mineral contents of shoot were higher than that of root, but the heavy metal contents were reverse. 19 species of flora such as Bidens frondosa L. and Ludwigia prostrata etc. were monitored on the artificial floating islands and a number of insects, amphibia, reptiles and birds were found.
