    The development and application of digital technologies has significantly modified the value chain and the business model of broadcasting as well as transformed telecommunication into mobile content carrier. In the process of media convergence, there has been an evolution of new types of use-consumers control the stream of information and interact with the media, the Providers of content and with other users. Therefore, a completely new area of business opportunity has emerged in European media industry for those providing content suitable for digital technical standards and new needs of consumers. The control over media production has been gradually diverging and novel content providers have started to enter media and telecommunication industries. Those advances in the development of interactive and multimedia technologies are forcing traditional information and publishing industries to develop new understanding of their roles in creating, processing and storing content. Financial and strategic imperatives have been driving this media's consolidation, wave. The fiercer competition amongst European TV operators has led companies to spread their risks and maximize their opportunities through a number of mergers and alliances. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the prospects for market trends and industry's structure transformation. it also takes account of the new opportunities and consequences for the content providers and matches those with new business models and strategies.
