    Water fluoridation is an effective way to prevent from tooth decay cavieies(decayed tooth). However, we need more information about water fluoridation in foreign countries and our basic data such as the various consumption of fluoride for children in Korea. This study goal was to evaluate fluoride intake through drinking fluid to make basic data for water fluoridation in Seoul. The concentration of fluoride in each kind of drinking fluid was analysed by an anion chromatography in six hundred eighty-five(685) elememtary students, and their average daily intake of drinking fluid was investigated by structured questionnaire to estimate the average daily intake of fluoride through drinking fluid for the students. The results were as follows; 1. The total average daily intake of drinking water of public school students in the summer season was 1576.3±692.1 ㎖, and in the winter season was 1584.4±663.1 ㎖. And the total average daily intake of drinking water of private school students in the winter season was 1778.3±879.5 ㎖. 2. For male students of public school in the summer season the average daily intake of drinking water was 1682.6±670.0 ㎖, and for female students, 1468.1±700.3 ㎖. 3. For male students of public school in the winter season the total average daily intake of drinking water was 1574.5±673.1 ㎖, and for female students, 1468.1±700.3 ㎖. For male and female students of private school, the total average daily intake of drinking water was 1791.6±882.2 ㎖ and 1765.5±881.4 ㎖ respectively. 4. The total average daily intake of fluoride of public school students in the summer season was 0.5140±0.6154 ㎎, and in the winter season was 0.6092±0.6492 ㎎. And the total average daily intake of fluoride of private school students in the winter season was 0.5948±0.6296 ㎎. 5. For male students of public school in the summer season the average daily intake of fluoride was 0.5811±0.6062 ㎎, and for female students, 0.4931±0.6191 ㎎. 6. For male students of public school in the winter season the total average daily intake of fluoride was 0.5811±0.6062 ㎎, and for female students, 0.63741±0.6910 ㎎. For male and female students of private school, the total average daily intake of fluoride was 0.5921±0.6646 ㎎ and 0.5975±0.5976 ㎎ respectively.
