    This thesis meant to investigate what influence the realities of Korean history education changing according to the educational aggression policy and the political circumstances change had on the compilation of Korean history textbooks. To examine the realities of Korean history, the Japanese Resident General enforced the reorganization of school system and abolished or reduced the subject of Korean history in the course of study at schools. He weakened the Korean history education that was an important means of national education for regaining national rights, to block up from the beginning the inspiration of national consciousness and patriotism. According to the political circumstances change, the limit on the use of Korean history textbooks was concretely executed through the textbook regulations. By controlling the content of textbooks systematically, they prohibited the use of all textbooks inspiring national consciousness or containing patriotic content. In this thesis, the primary school textbooks of Korean history during Resident General period were divided into 'Disapproved Textbooks' and 'Authorized Textbooks'. And how history description and history recognition responded and changed in the process of imperial Japan's aggression and how Japanese distorted and used history for aggression policy were looked around. In this period 'Disapproved Textbooks' described in detail the looks of Korean race resisting to imperial Japan's aggression and were pursuing the proper objective of Korean history education i.e. the regaining of national rights through education. On the contrary, 'Authorized Textbooks' distorted Korea-Japan relation history and emphasized the content that coincided with imperial Japan's aggressive design. And they described the disputes with China or northern races. Thus, Korean history textbooks in Japanese Resident General period, due to the circumstances and the limit of the era, coexisted in contradictory fashion. And they formed a condition to form a confused historical recognition. (The End)
